WISE flew the flag for collaborative security at the Digital Infrastructures for Research (DI4R) Conference in Krakow this September. With both a co-located workshop and a session within the main programme, it was clear that security for e-Infrastructures was a hot topic. Talks featured speakers representing over 8 countries and ranged from the challenges of Cloud Security to how to involve young talent.
As well as engaging presentations and discussions, the future of WISE came under the spotlight. Where should we be focusing? Where can we have an impact? To paraphrase the summary of the Workshop, given by Ralph Niederberger from Jülich Supercomputing Center (FZJ), it is essential that our Working Groups have clear targets and only exist whilst there is work to be done. Topics for future consideration include Intelligence Sharing, IPv6 Security and Privacy Regulations, to name but a few. That being said, our current Working Groups continue to be important and relevant… you can expect more on the activities in progress at our next WISE Workshop scheduled for Q1 2017, kindly hosted by Nikhef!
